Key Takeaways:
3D rendering is a great way for religious organizations to plan new developments, renovations and refurbishments for their congregations.
3D flythrough animations of religious spaces can be used to create enthusiasm and engagement in your congregation, to foster community support for the project and to assist with fundraising.
3D renderings can be really helpful if you’re considering adapting an existing building, such as a commercial property or historical building into a religious space as they let you see exactly what the renovation or redevelopment would look like.
Architectural visualizations make space planning easy. With detailed renderings you can make sure all the essential areas within your religious establishment are in the right place, are the right size and are easy to get to and from etc.
When you think of 3D renderings, you typically might think of exteriors of residential houses. It might come as a surprise then that we have created very many renderings for churches and other religious organizations. Here are just a few recent examples.
You can click on any of the images below on this page to open a larger version in a lightbox. You can also play the embedded flythrough animations videos directly in the page.
We have worked with many different religious organizations to do 3D renderings for their projects; Catholic churches, chapels and buildings for other forms of Christianity, including more progressive churches and visualizations for an Orthodox church, Islamic mosques, Jewish synagogues, facilities for religious schools, chapels at wedding venues and more!
Here is a 360 degree spin model we recently completed for a church who wanted to replace their roof with an updated edition - we think it’s pretty neat! To see it in action, click the play icon, and then click and drag on the file to rotate it.
Why Religious Organizations Hire Us For 3D Rendering
There are a lot of reasons why religious orgs might hire us for their real estate projects:
Planning Completely New Developments - if you’re going to put a lot of money into a new building project, you want to make sure you do it right! Our work can go a long way to helping you get it right first time.
Refurbishment Planning - Similar to new builds, you can save a lot on renovating or refurbishing a property by using renderings to make intelligent choices for fittings, furnishings, wall colors, signage etc.
Fundraising and Donor Engagement - Having compelling visuals that your congregation and community can really get behind can go a long way towards attracting more donations and support for your project.
Community Engagement - Do you want to involve your community in the planning process? There’s no better way to get them engaged and excited in giving feedback than through realistic images and animations of what the final product will look like.
Marketing and Promotion - High-quality visuals have a lot of possible use cases for being included in brochures, websites and social media where you might be advertising upcoming development projects or a recently completed construction. Show the public what your new space looks like and encourage them to come along!
Historical Preservation - photos can be a great way to create an archival record of a building before you renovate or refurbish it, but what if you could do even better? We can turn your 3D CAD files into 3D prints of your building as a physical record that you can keep for posterity.
Interior Design - Sometimes it’s hard to get a sense of what fittings and furnishings you have selected will look like in the finished product. Interior renderings allow you to see as many variations on fittings, furnishings and decor as you like, saving you time and money in the long run.
Grant Applications - If you are looking to apply for a grant for your building project, it can be very helpful to have detailed visual plans that show the grant application board you are serious about your envisioned goal. Seeing something tangible can help in getting your grants approved and funded.
Event Promotion - If your church runs large events like concerts or discos, or has events or ceremonies in a community hall, our CGI images can help you promote upcoming dates to remember by rendering a scene into your indoor or outdoor space. These are great for marketing materials and giving people a sense of what it will be like to get involved.
Planning Permission - Need to add a certain number of parking spots to your development to keep the town planners at bay? We can do an aerial view for you showing exactly how many parking spaces you have, and how they are not negatively effecting the neighborhood in any way.
We can do some pretty unique stuff. Check out this aerial view showing church buildings, car park and an outdoor amphitheater, or this top down section view showing how all the internal church spaces work together:
Transforming Existing Buildings into Religious Premises Through Renovation or Refurbishment
We have about a 50/50 mix of clients who are building their premises from scratch, as opposed to re-developing an existing piece of real estate.
With more and more commercial properties sitting vacant, bringing life back into a disused building could be a great and more affordable opportunity compared to building a place of worship from scratch.
Here are some types of buildings you could consider:
Warehouses - Potentially great for creating large open spaces for worship, although hard to heat if you don’t have a large, active congregation.
Community Centers - Often with large spaces and meeting rooms which can be repurposed. They may also already been known as community venues, helping you attract more people to your congregation.
Theaters - If you prefer to give sermons from a stage, redeveloping an unused theater or cinema could be perfect for you, making full use of the existing seating and stage areas.
Schools - Sometimes old schools, particularly those on the smaller side in more rural locations, could make great places of worship. They are, after all, already places of learning and usually come equipped with classrooms and auditoriums that could be re-purposed in different ways.
Office Buildings - while maybe not the most appealing of venues, with the right refurbishment an old office building could make be an excellent place of worship, as their layout can be almost entirely constructed to meet your unique needs.
Residential Homes - In some circumstances, converting homes into small chapels or meeting spaces could be effective, particularly if they’ve already been rezoned for commercial use and have extended parking.
Libraries - sadly, libraries might be on their way to becoming extinct. They often have beautiful open spaces, however, have lovely architecture and often have meeting rooms as well, which could be used for seminary or administrative purposes. Libraries are already reflective spaces, so that’s a bonus too.
Historical Buildings - Have an amazing, historical place of worship, and preserve its architectural heritage at the same time. This could be an ideal win-win situation!
