Using Virtual Reality Renderings to Promote Your Caribbean Hotel, Resort, or Spa Accommodation

Picture this: After a crazy couple of years, people have finally managed to book in some leave from work. They’re a bit burnt out, and want to make this break really special and extra refreshing. So they start looking online for hotels, resorts or spa accommodation that look like the perfect getaway. Somewhere nice and sunny, maybe Mexico or somewhere else in the Caribbean. But they are confronted with LOTS of options to choose from.

Having spent so much time cooped up in their apartment, maybe they managed to save up some money and are even considering making the move permanent if they can find the perfect property to buy.

Can you feel yourself relaxing here already?

When promoting resorts, hotels, spas or other accommodations, helping people to connect on an emotional level with your venue can go a long way. Virtual reality renderings can be very effective in facilitating this experience, and giving your venue an edge over the competition.

Ideally something near a golf course for lazy retirement days or close to a beach for developing their tan maybe?

If one of these demographics is your target market, we can help you reach them effectively!

So where do people start looking for accommodation? How do they decide which property to holiday in or to buy?

Most people will begin their search by looking for a general location they think might be interesting, and from there will start exploring the various accommodation options that are available, based on whether they’re looking for a short retreat, or to purchase a property for a more permanent getaway. Once they have a general location in focus, they’ll probably start looking for properties that are available.

As they start to shortlist properties, the logistical aspects of the accommodation might initially factor into their decision making - how many rooms, what kind of services and amenities the accommodation has, what the hot tub is like, whether there is a tennis court or pool etc. - but they will probably finalize their decision about where they holiday or buy based on images and videos of the property.

Images and videos give people a feel or sense of what the property might be like to stay in. This creates an emotional connection in future guests and potential buyers that can make a huge difference in getting them through the door, rather than losing them to competing accommodation.

Virtual reality tours to Promote Resorts and Hotels - a step beyond still images and video

While still images and videos can help to create this emotional connection and are a great start, they lack the immersive experience which is possible to achieve with newer technologies like virtual reality renderings.

Virtual reality tours are the perfect way to take your still images and video marketing to the next level - particularly in cases where your accommodation is still under construction - by allowing viewers to fully immerse themselves in your accommodation, hotel or resort in the Caribbean, without having to be anywhere near it.

Virtual reality tours are the next best thing to having people physically in your resort or property for a guided tour. Imagine the emotional connection someone will be able to create by walking around the property in the first person in virtual reality, exploring all its elements as if they were actually there!

There are three ways to view a virtual reality tour, so they are very accessible to everyone.

The best way to view a virtual reality tour is with a virtual reality headset. This is recommended for sales rooms and anywhere you want to make a great impression, as they give the most immersive experience. It’s also possible, however, to send virtual tours to prospective clients or embed them into your website for casual visitors, who can then use the tour as an interactive rendering on their computer or phone / tablet.

A case Study: Virtual reality renderings for an entire resort in Mexico

Recently the Las Palomas Seaside Golf Community in Mexico, just over the US border, came to us with a project to create virtual reality tours for their entire resort, including all the variations of their rooms, the welcome lobby etc. The tourist name of the area Las Palomas is located in is "Rocky Point". It's the next / up and coming Cancun.

The resort wanted these renderings to give prospective guests a luxurious, immersive feeling of what the resort would be like to stay in, with the ability to walk through the resort before booking and arriving. Here is an example of one of the units we created tours for:

To navigate around the virtual tour, select the white circles. This tour also shows examples of the extra functionality that VR tours are capable of. For example, if you navigate to the part of the tour shown below, and click on the little flashing white dots, the tour will give you the ability to rotate through a number of different finish and furnishing options for the unit. This is an excellent sales tool that allows your clients to customize their units to their liking before they are built. It can also help with upselling more expensive fitouts in your accommodation:

Navigating to this area of the VR tour and clicking the flashing white dots marked by the arrows will allow you to see different fitting and furnishing options for the apartment

If you would like to see a wider selection of virtual reality tours for Las Palomas, use the green button below. Please note that because there are a large number of VR tours embedded on the page, they may take a bit of time for each tour to load individually. We promise it’s worth the wait!

Are you an architect or developer building a hotel, spa or resort accommodation in the Caribbean?

If you are an architect or developer building a resort, hotel, spa or other accommodation for holiday let or purchase and are looking for an innovative way to build an emotional connection with your clients that moves them closer to a sale, we’d love to hear from you!

We specialize in creating immersive virtual reality tours from architectural plans. That means you can get the sales process well underway before construction even begins on your project!

Do You have an established accommodation business in the Caribbean you would like to promote to vacationers?

If you have an established accommodation business and want to create virtual reality tours as a sales tool to promote it, you have two options available. Either you can pay someone to come to your resort, bring a 360 degree camera, and take photos of all of your rooms before stitching them together to create the tours, or with some simple direction and the plans of your accommodation we can create 3D rendered virtual tours.

Compared to using 360 degree cameras to create virtual tours, we think you’ll find our pricing very competitive. Rendered tours also have the benefit of being able to display whatever furniture and fittings you would like in your rooms, as well as having full control over lighting conditions, including 3D rendered guests enjoying your accommodation and more.

The individual renderings can also be used from the tours in other promotional and marketing material, allowing you a swiss army knife approach to marketing that isn’t possible with 360 degree cameras.
