Interior 3D Rendering of a modern bathroom

Renovating your home can be both an exciting and scary time. You can imagine yourself enjoying the space you envision, but it's going to take an investment of your hard earned dollars to make it a reality. To ensure the success of your renovation project and your satisfaction with the end result, a 3D rendering can be worth the small investment.

From a one room renovation such as a bathroom or bedroom, to a larger renovation that includes multiple rooms or an entire floor such as the basement, a 3D rendering will help you visualize the space, helping you catch any potential problems before construction commences.

How can a 3D rendering help you with your home renovation?

A 3D rendering of your renovation project can help you spot potential issues before you invest the big bucks in materials and labor. A 3D rendering can help you...

  • Visualize interior design decisions such as color schemes, textures, and materials

  • Visualize the style of specific fixtures such as lighting, sinks, baths, toilets, etc...

  • Visualize the layout and flow of a room

While you maybe able to visualize your renovation project in your head, seeing it in a digital or printed format can help you see things from a new perspective.

How much do 3D renderings cost?

3D renderings can cost as little as a couple hundred dollars to a few thousands dollars depending on the scope of your renovation project. If your renovation project is one room such as a bathroom you can expect to pay anywhere from $199 for a basic rendering to $399 for a custom rendering which includes custom colour swatches, textures and fixtures. Larger projects such as multi-rooms or an entire floor which require multiple renderings could cost in excess of $1,000.

Regardless of how big your renovation project is, your investment in 3D renderings is usually relatively small in comparison to the cost of the actual renovation. It's not uncommon for one room renovations to cost $5,000 for a very basic bathroom ,to tens of thousands of dollars for a high-end bathroom or kitchen renovation. If you're finishing your basement or renovating multiple rooms, your renovation could easily cost in excess of $50,000.

If you happen to make changes to your renovation based on your 3D renderings, then the cost of the renderings is a no-brainer, as it always costs more to make changes after construction has started.
